Templates

Procedure templates are at the heart of the application. If you take the time to set up your templates with pre-filled information, you can use them to create patient notes in seconds.

Template mode

When working on your templates, we refer to this as being in 'Template mode' as opposed to 'Patient mode'.

Template structure

  1. Multiple procedure templates

You can have as many procedure templates as you require.

  2. Single recovery template

You can only have one recovery template that is part-managed by the system but can be customised.

New templates

There are 3 ways to create a new template

  1. New template

Choosing 'New template' uses the starter template as it's base.

  2. Copy template

Duplicate an existing template by using the copy function.

  3. Import template

At Praccelerate, we are focussed on saving you time so we have curated our own world-class templates that can be further customised to your requirements.

Template components

Templates are structured in the same way as an 'Op note' and built using tabs, sections, options and variables.

  1. Tabs are system driven and cannot be changed
  2. Sections live within tabs
  3. Options live within sections and can be turned into a selection and pre-filled on your template
  4. Variables enable a secondary list within an option (e.g. Right /Left). They are in beta and currently do not have a visual interface to set them up. Please email support@praccelerate.com with your requirements and we will add them into your account. For further information, please read our separate help article on variables.

Further information:

  1. Some sections are maintained by the system and cannot be changed
  2. You can create as many sections, options, selections and variables as you like.
  3. If you create an option in 'template mode', it is automatically added to your library

The starter template

The starter template is used as the base for a new template and can be customised to your requirements. On account creation, we provide a starter template that houses many of the popular sections and options so that you can get started quickly.

Please note that if you change your starter template, it does not update your existing templates.

The recovery template

The recovery template is maintained by the system. It can but customised but there is just the one template that is used across all recovery notes.

  1. It has different tabs but works in exactly the same way as Procedure templates.
  2. If data is added to a section on the patient op note and that section is also on the recovery template, it will automatically pre-fill. You do then have the option to edit if required.

Surgeon profile

Your surgeon profile (e.g. name) is automatically displayed on your patient notes and is different to your log-in credentials. Go to Settings > Account > Op note profile to edit.

System sections

The following sections are maintained by the system and cannot be deleted from your library. However, those sections that are 'optional' can be hidden on a template.
