Patient notes

Workflow

All notes are housed under a 'single patient episode of care' that has 3 tabs:

Op list

Create and submit the op note

Recovery

Create (or skip) the recovery note

Archive

An archive of both notes

Creating a note

Patient notes can be created very quickly if you have set up and pre-filled your procedure templates. All patient notes require a template and the structure across both the op note and the template it uses is the same.

Patient mode

When creating a patient note, we refer to this as being in 'Patient mode' as opposed to 'Template mode'.

Selections

  1. To create a selection, simply click the section name and select an option from the list.
  2. If a section does not have a selection applied to it, it will be ignored on the PDF.
  3. If the template does not have the option you require, you can create a new one but they are not added to the library.
  4. Selections can be reordered by clicking the '3 dot' icon in the section title bar

Speech to text

On a mobile device, you can use the speech to text option (e.g. Siri) from the keyboard. For further information, please read our help article specific to this functionality.

Comments

You can add a comment at the end of every section. This is a useful tool for unexpected events or when you want to add some additional information to a section. To add a comment, click the '3 dots' icon on a section.

Review, submit and share a note

  1. You must review the note before submitting it.
  2. Once submitted, the note cannot be changed.
  3. Once submitted, the note can be printed or shared (with or without a passcode) immediately or at a later date

Sections

  • If a section does not have a selection, it will not appear on the PDF.
  • Sections can be removed, renamed, reordered and copied from the '3 dot' icon in the section title bar

Change template

You can apply a new template to a draft op note at any point.

Printing

The op note or recovery note can be printed.

Sharing

The op note or recovery note can be digitally shared (with or without a passcode) using device specific options like email, text, WhatsApp etc.
